Energy-efficiency grants available from co-op

Members of Palmetto Electric Cooperative who own manufactured homes are eligible to apply for two new Help My House energy-efficiency programs.
The co-op will choose at random 25 applicants to receive an upgrade of their heating and air conditioning systems and another 25 people to receive upgraded energy-efficient appliances.
The program is part of a statewide energy-efficiency and consumer-education study. Data from the survey will help utilities and policymakers determine which energy-efficiency approaches have the greatest impact and should be emphasized in the future, according to a news release.
To apply for the program, go to www.palmetto.coop or call 843-308-5551.
